Honestly, Jez, I see you more as a chef. I remember you telling me a while ago that one of your biggest dreams was to own and run a restaurant... Why not go for it?

There are two main reasons I'm on the fence about this one: 1) I'm starting to feel really burnt out on restaurants, thanks to my most recent experience. 2) I worry that I don't have the ability to multi-task as quickly and as widespread as you have to as a chef (or even a line cook). Some of my more recent experiences in the good old industrial kitchen have been very bad indeed. Basically, I'm afraid of crashing and burning. Constantly.
Understandable. Those are the major reasons why I never went into the culinary arts as well. I almost voted cosmetology, but remembered you saying that you wanted to own a restaurant, so I went with that. Cosmetology does sound like it would be interesting, though.

Cosmetology is kind of where I'm leaning at the moment. In my pondering of things, I realized I've always had a fascination with things in that field, even before I ever dreamed of working in a restaurant. Buuut, I want to be sure of what I want to study before I go and shell out a few grand for an education.
There's yet another option on the table as well: Go get my cosmetology license and do hair ('cos it pays sooo much better than restaurants) while studying something more intellectual.
Actually, that other option sounds like a really good idea. At the very least it'll give you the money and the time to figure out what it is you really want to go for.

One of my managers said that if I became a chef, I'd probably end up a pint-sized female version of Gordon Ramsay. She said "I can just hear you now... (insert British accent)Wot the fuck do you call this shit? This isn't a dish, it's a bloody disaster!'" I rofled.
I LOL'd at reading that. I think that would be awesome if you did that. Oh and sorry that your team SUCKS lol. Hurricanes are dead last in the NHL right now with 8 points.
