How to get yourself noticed on deviantART:
Forums: Hanging out in the forums is one good way to get people to notice you. Not just lurking, though. That won't do you any good, as no one will ever see you if you don't post. First, read any FAQs or sticky threads (they're the locked ones at the very top that never go away) for each forum you're going to post to, then read and post to other people's threads for a while so you can get a good idea of how things work before you start your own threads. Also, keep in mind the
Etiquette Policy when posting. People who see you in the forums often and think you have something worthwhile to say will most likely come check out your page and your gallery, and usually leave comments.
dAmn: This stands for deviantART messaging network. In other words, it's where you go when you click that little chat button at the top of the page. There are a whole lot of different rooms available in dAmn for you to choose from, so just pick one with a theme that fits your interests and start going in there regularly and contributing to the conversation. Again, be sure to read any FAQs and/or rules for the room(s) you choose to visit before you get involved, so you don't accidentally find yourself banned from what you thought of as your favourite chat. The same people tend to go into the same chat rooms all the time, so it's a good way to get to know your fellow deviants and for them to get to know you. If you frequent the same room(s) often enough and long enough, the other regulars there will most likely take an interest in you and check out your page, commenting, +faving and +watching along the way.
Give Comments: This goes hand in hand with the previous two items. You'll invariably get out of this community what you put into it. That means if you find someone on the forums or in a dAmn room who interests you, check out their work. Leave critiques. If you don't know enough about their genre of art to give a solid critique but you still like their work, tell them so. Just like you, they'll appreciate knowing that someone likes their art for what it's worth just as much as they'd appreciate an in-depth critique most of the time.
Be Random: Go on a tour of dA! There's a "Random Deviant" button lurking somewhere in your message centre. Click it. It'll do exactly what it promises and take you to a random deviant's user page. From there what you do is up to you entirely. You can either click the button again and move on without so much as a peep, or you can leave some feedback. Just make sure you're not leaving spam, such as taggage or blatant advertising, especially on the user's front page.
It doesn't take all that much time or effort to get yourself noticed, as long as you are respectful to others and give no less than what you would like to receive.
A wise deviant, whose name I can't recall at the moment, said recently in the forums, "Ask not what your deviantART can do for you, but what you can do for your deviantART."
So go now, and spread the love!

Nah... I just get tired of typing those same words over and over in the forums, so next time I see a thread complaining about "Waaah! I'm not getting any attention!!", I'll just post the linkie to this and save myself some trouble.
